Dr. Fan's research interest is notably broad, encompassing a wide array of critical areas such as best management practices, agricultural water management, and water quality. He also delves into edge-of-field practices, soil health assessment, and crop growth modeling, demonstrating a keen interest in addressing contemporary environmental challenges. Further, his work extends into climate change, greenhouse gas emissions, and the intricate food-energy-water nexus. Dr. Fan is adept at leveraging advanced technologies for environmental research, including machine learning, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), highlighting his commitment to innovation in the field of agricultural and environmental science.
